Welcome to The Shred Thread
Why I'm starting another blog when nobody asked for one — and what to expect.
Every few years I get the itch to spin up a personal site, fill it with three posts, and abandon it. This time I’m trying something different: lower stakes, higher signal.
The rules
- Short posts beat no posts. A two-paragraph note about a switch config beats a 4,000-word essay that never ships.
- Write things I’d want to find. Most posts here will be the thing I wish had existed when I was googling at 2am.
- No analytics. No popups. No newsletter modal. Just words and the occasional screenshot.
What you’ll see here
Roughly:
- Hobbyist programming — the side projects that don’t pay the bills
- Home lab — the rack in the closet that absolutely pays for itself in stress
- Networking — VLANs, IPv6, and the slow march toward zero-trust at home
- DIY — wood, metal, electrons, in roughly that order
- Off-topic — cars, metal, art, and whatever else I can’t shut up about
Welcome in. Turn it up.
